ORAC Values to Counteract Free Radicals

If you read my post on Novermber 16, 2009 you'll see the chart which compares the ORAC (Oxygen Radical Absorbency Capacity) values of cocoa with various other fruits and vegertables. It's a very interesting comparison and shows that unprocessed cocoa powder is the richest source of antioxidants.

All MXI™'s products are certified by Brunswick Laboratories, an independent research facility, which recently developed the “Total ORACFN” testing for all five free radicals found in the human body. The “FN” stands for “Food and Nutrition." Previously MXI™'s ORAC values were based solely on ORAC testing for the “Peroxyl radical."

When MXI™ found out about this new testing, they immediately inquired about the cost and the time required for completing the testing. They were told that it would take two weeks to complete the testing and the cost would be $5,000.
